Palm Treo 700p officially announced

After months of rumors and speculation, Palm has finally announced today the release of the Treo 700p. In addition to the 700w (windows version), the 700p (palm version) will shortly become commercially available from two U.S. based wireless carriers, Sprint and Verizon Wireless. The Treo 700p is the first PalmOS smartphone to benefit from high-speed wireless data connectivity using both carriers’ EvDO networks.
The 700p features include:
EV-DO highspeed data with built-in DUN support
128MB memory, 60MB available to user
SD/SDIO card slot
1.3 megapixel camera
Bluetooth Wireless (no wifi here)
320 Ă— 320 touchscreen with 65K colors
Palm OS 5.4.9
Instant Messaging
Speakerphone
Both Verizon Wireless (already has 700w) and Sprint PCS will be launching the release of the Treo 700p. Palm has not yet announced plans of a rumored GSM version like what is currently available for the Treo 650.
