Amp'd Mobile will get EA Games for mobile
Amp'd Mobile and Electronic Arts, the world's biggest video game company, have formed a partnership that will bring over 15 EA mobile games to Amp'd cell phone customers early this year.
The newly launched and privately held MVNO Amp'd Mobile, is using network capacity on the Verizon Wireless network and is primarily targeting young adults with its advanced high-speed EVDO wireless services.
The EA games that will be offered include Madden NFL 06, Need for Speed Underground 2, and The Sims 2. In addition they will offer popular casual games such as Poppit! and Tri-Peaks Solitaire from EA's Pogo.com online service.
Amp'd said it will provide a dedicated game channel for EA's brand, offering video previews, user ratings, and other content in addition to mobile game downloads.
Viacom's MTV Networks, which just signed a renewal with Virgin Mobile is an investor in Amp'd Mobile and provides it with video clips and other mobile content.
